In November 2005 at Greyfest, I was introduced to Emi Yang by John Parker, president of SEGC. Emi is the USA correspondent writing for Dog World Japan and she was interested in learning about Greyhounds for an article she was writing for Dog World Japan.
So, there it began at Greyfest. Emi was introduced to various SEGC and SEGA Board members, interviewing volunteers and members, snapping photos, and basically having a great time as she began her research. Post Greyfest, Emi attended Yappy Hours, pet therapy sessions, lure coursing trials (she competes with Whippets), and even visited the Greyhound track in Birmingham to get a broader idea of the life Greyhounds lead before and after their racing career. The results of her research are provided in her article published in the June 2005 issue of Dog World Japan. We are proud of our involvement and hope the article brings new awareness of Greyhounds to the people of Japan.
