(July 2004 - October 2011)
I had just met my wife-to-be when I adopted Norah by recommendations of good friends Laura and Boris. Four years later, and now married, my wife was tasked on a six-month deployment with the Air Force. Not long into her deployment, Norah was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy. She made it another two months on heart medications but eventually passed before my wife was able to come home. Norah and I Face-Timed, Skyped, and talked on the phone almost everyday with my deployed wife, but her heart wasn't strong enough to hold out until she returned home.
My wife feels as if she didn't get to say good-bye but our greyhound knew she loved her. Initially, Norah was never attached to anyone else more than me; but in the short 18 months that we lived together as a family, I found myself losing competitions of "who can get her to come to you" when simultaneously calling her name.
My wife gets home January 7, 2012. I love you honey! We both miss and love you Norah!
