Support SEGA

Home >  Adopt  > Support SEGA

There are many ways you can support SEGA. Remember, all donations and other revenues are dedicated entirely to supporting our Greyhound adoption program.

Volunteer!

We have many volunteer opportunities available. Click here to learn more about volunteering.

Collect and save empty printer ink cartridges!

SEGA earns money by recycling empty inkjet and laser printer cartridges (no Epsons or previously recycled cartridges). Save the empties from your home printer and the ones at work too! Set up a program to collect them at work, school or in your neighborhood! Contact us to arrange pickup or shipment of bulk cartridges.

Donate goods or services!

Here are a few items on our wish list at the kennel:

  • Household cleaning spray
  • Floor cleaner (e.g., Lysol, Mr. Clean, etc.)
  • Medical supplies…stretch gauze, non-stick Telfa pads, tape (Elastikon is our favorite), ear cleaning pads
  • Office supplies (e.g., stamps, royal blue pocket folders, medium tip Sharpies, etc.)
  • DD batteries for flashlights
  • Have a wire crate you aren't using anymore? A foster grey could use it!
  • Heartguard and Frontline for our dogs in foster care

Click here to go to Amazon.com and view the kennel wish list and shop right from your home.

Foster a Greyhound!

A foster home is a temporary home for one of our Greyhounds awaiting adoption. By being a foster parent, you assist in getting the hound acclimated to home-life. Plus, space is made available at the SEGA kennel for another dog to be brought in from the track! Greyhound Fostering: Start to Finish and our Guidelines for Volunteers are two very important documents to read before making this decision. Most of our homes have their foster hound between two days to two weeks, depending on the availability of an appropriate prospective adopter. Please contact the foster chair for more information. Thank you!!

Contribute financially!

Southeastern Greyhound Adoption/Greyhound Pets of America-Atlanta is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization with no paid staff. Our sole sources of funds for our operations are adoption fees and donations, 100 percent of which goes directly to our adoption efforts.

For the past three years, our income from all sources has been equal to our expenses.

To make a tax-deductible donation to help support our kennel fund via PayPal click on the PayPal button below.

If you would rather mail your tax-deductible donation, please send it to:

Your donation will be greatly appreciated, especially by the Greyhounds!

Commission a painting!

Michelle Abeyta paints custom portraits of your Greyhound…or cat or horse or goat. 10 percent of the commission will be donated to SEGA! Visit Michelle’s site to see her fabulous artwork!

Recycle!

Save your aluminum, glass, and newspaper. A few cents per pound can really add up! Swing by the Sandy Springs Recycling Center, weigh your donations and enter the weight on SEGA's page in the donation book on the counter. It's easy!

Grounds open for drop off 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Staffed hours are Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Directions: The recycling center is located at 470 Morgan Falls Road, Atlanta, GA 30350. From I-285, travel north on Roswell Road about 4 miles. Turn left on Morgan Falls Road. Look for the Recycling Center on your left, about a mile down the road.

Lend your professional skills and contacts!

Are you or do you know...a printer who can help with SEGA publications? a writer who can help with grant writing? Every extra set of hands is a huge help.

Check with your employer for volunteer grants and matching gifts programs!

Employer matching gift programs are a great way to increase your contribution to SEGA!
